Default Basic Search Engine Optimization for Mortgage Broker Websites

This post is inteaded to be a primer for begginers to search engine optimization for mortgage websites, here is your starting point! Impliment these basic steps and you've begun the mortgage search engine optimization process.

1. Make a list of all of the search terms you want to target.

2. Associate your search terms with specific pages of your website, no more than three per page.

3. Name all of your web pages to clearly reflect the topic they are about, preferably the search term itself if it's applicable. For example, if you have a web page about mortgage programs why not call it "your town mortgage programs". Seperate each word with a dash to give clear definition to each word, your-town-mortgage-programs.html.

4. Use your search terms in each page Title meta tag.

5. Use your search terms in each page meta Description, make it different fom the title while still incorporating the search terms.

6. Even though today the most popular search engines don't use the keywords for your Keyword meta tag some still do. Make a complete list of all your mortgage broker search terms, separate them by a common and order them from most important to least important. On every page re-arrange your list including the meta keyword most relevant to the page first.

7. On your page make sure your page title has the H1 attribute and contains your mortgage search phrase / term when possible.

8. Use the H2 attribute on subtitles.

9. Bold a few of your search phrases you have incorporated into the page text.

10. Italicize a few of the search terms you have incorporated into each page.
Make sure you inter-link all of your most important web pages. If your menu is not done in a java script add html links at the bottom of each page. These links determine the architecture of your website which is critical for sharing the power (page rank on Google) between all of your pages.

11. If your mortgage website has allot of pages it may not be practical to have every page interlinked. In this case interlink the most important and add a page called site map. Link to your site map from every page on your site. Link to every page from your site map page this insures that every page of your website is no more than two clicks from your home page and that the search engines will spider every page of your website. If you have more than 100 pages you should make multiple site map pages, each linked from each page - this tokeep the maximum number fo links per page below the recomended 100.

12. Be careful not to duplicate page content, while "content is king", and higher page numers are a plus, duplicate conent will land your mortgage websites in the dog house with the search engines.

Impliment these steps and you'll be well on your way to having one of the top mortgage broker websites for your target market.

We'll be adding to this mortgage broker search engine optimization primer in the future so stop back often and check on our progress!

Best of luck and high rankings with your mortgage loan origination websites!
